Aloe Vera Leaf has long been revered and used as one of nature's finest body cleansers, supporting the body to remove morbid matter from the stomach, liver, kidneys, spleen and bladder, and is also considered to be the finest herbal colon cleanser known. It will not promote "gripe" (sharp pains and grumbling in the bowels) when used as an herbal laxative, and it is also less likely to cause dehydration from such use. Aloe is a time-tested, natural means to soothe the gastrointestinal tract, working with the body's own abilities to ease peptic ulcer inflammation caused by excess acid, aspirin and other anti-inflammatory drugs.
Slippery Elm Bark is respected for its natural ability to soothe and reduce inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract. Its rich mucilage content works with the body to soothe the inflamed mucous membranes of the stomach and neutralize excess acids in the intestines. As an herbal bowel lubricant Slippery Elm may be beneficial for supporting relief of Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, diverticulosis, diverticulitis and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). It has also been used to ease both constipation and chronic diarrhea.
Barberry Root is used in alternative medicine as a mild, but effective, purgative and may thus be helpful to those with constipation. It is thought to support the body's own ability to stimulate intestinal movement and may effectively loosen obstructions in the intestinal tract. It is also said to help strengthen and cleanse the system.
Constipation Support combines the finest herbs to help support the body in its effort to relieve constipation, while at the same time working to soothe the gastrointestinal tract and support the body's own natural mechanisms to cleanse the system and detoxify itself of toxins and colon waste buildup.
