Millions of people throughout the world suffer from debilitating migraine headaches, and when they strike, life almost stops for the duration.  In view of this dire situation, Herbal Extracts Plus has combined three of the finest all-natural medicinal extracts in an effective herbal product called Migraine Headache Support.  Feverfew, Hawthorne Leaf and Cayenne are effective and time-tested herbal supplements that have been used over the years to relieve pain and/or eliminate the conditions in which migraine headaches thrive.  These throbbing, recurring headaches usually pound on one side of the head (but can be on both) and may be aggravated by sound, light, movement and odors, and they are frequently accompanied by nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain or an aura.  A migraine aura can be visual or sensory and can be described as a “spot” which dominates vision or a numbness that travels within the body (usually from the hand, to the arm, then to the face).  It is believed that migraines are associated with a genetic disorder, in which there is a constriction of blood vessels, causing various, and often severely painful symptoms.  Each person's individual reaction to sensory messages often triggers a migraine episode, and these stimuli often include stress, hormonal fluctuations, altered sleeping patterns, strong odors (such as perfumes), flying (high altitudes) and certain foods.  Among the foods and food additives that can trigger migraines include monosodium glutamate (MSG), sulfites (preservatives), cheese, chocolate and alcohol.  Some experts consider tension headaches to be a milder form of migraine.  We cannot always put our lives on hold when a migraine strikes, so it is important to remember that the premium-quality plant extracts in Migraine Headache Support can help us enjoy our daily activities again - and pain free!

Purpose of Formulation:
Migraine Headache Support   acts as an herbal remedy for migraine headaches.  It works to relieve the severe pain and other symptoms associated with migraine headaches, as well as promote improved blood circulation to the brain by dilating the constricted blood vessels that can trigger and aggravate headaches.

A mixture of 50% Feverfew 4:1, 35% Hawthorne Leaf(0.8% Vitexin), and 15% Cayenne (90,000 Heat Units). Our products contain 100% pure plant-based/natural materials using no fillers, grains, yeast, sugars, binders, excipients, starches or synthetic materials.

FeverfewFeverfew has been found to be effective in preventing migraine headaches and/or reducing the nausea and vomiting associated with migraines.  The respected British journal, Lancet, reported in 1988, that extracts of Feverfew inhibited the release of two inflammatory substances, serotonin and prostaglandin, and its use was effective against headache.  The parthenolide in Feverfew appears to block platelets and inhibit the production of serotonin, a brain chemical involved in the release of pain-causing chemicals.  Ideally, when taken on a regular basis before the onset of pain, Feverfew may prevent or reduce the frequency of migraine headaches.

Hawthorne Leaf Hawthorne Leaf helps to stimulate blood circulation to the brain, as well as the heart.  It appears to lower cholesterol, and since there is less platelet aggregation from cholesterol (blood clotting) in the arteries, this action allows the blood to flow more freely and reach the brain's tissues.  The herb's high vitamin C content helps to strengthen tiny capillaries in the brain, opening them and resulting in more nutrients and oxygen reaching the brain.  By increasing blood circulation to the brain and stopping inflammatory responses caused by allergies, the herb is also believed to have a sedative effect on the central nervous system. Hawthorne's rich flavonoids, which are thought to dilate and open up the blood vessels (as an herbal vasodilator), allows oxygen-rich blood to circulate throughout the body.

CayenneCayenne acts as a natural pain reliever and when taken both internally and applied topically helps to relieve pain.  It provides natural heat, and its ingredient, capsaicin, is a strong pain-relieving agent that alleviates the joint pain of arthritis, rheumatism, muscle spasms, cramps and bowel pain.  In addition, Cayenne triggers the release of endorphins by the brain, chemicals that relieve pain that may be helpful in treating cluster headaches.  This herbal supplement improves blood circulation and is thought to normalize both high and low blood pressure.  In alternative medicine, Cayenne is called a carrier or catalyst herb that increases the efficacy of almost every other herb or herbal combination.
