Purpose of Formulation:
The plant extracts in Women's Health Support act to improve hormonal balance during menstrual cycles and menopause and to relieve the pains, aches, stress, anxiety and other problems that often accompany irregular monthly periods and "change of life" issues.
Ingredients:
A mixture of 60% Black Cohosh Root (2.5% Triterpene Glycosides), 20% Chasteberry 4:1, and 20% Dong Quai (1% Ligustilide/Ferrulic Acid). Our products contain 100% pure plant-based/natural materials using no fillers, grains, yeast, sugars, binders, excipients, starches, or synthetic materials.
Black Cohosh is famous for its beneficial effects on women's health. It is said to provide relief from menstrual problems (including PMS) and is considered indispensable as a natural way to ease menopausal discomforts. This herb is a wonderful, natural sedative that is used to relax the entire body, relieve aches and pains and alleviate anxiety and temporary depression. Black Cohosh has been used as a long-time treatment for women's health issues, mostly by balancing hormone levels. It is used to relieve stress-related problems associated with premenstrual syndrome (PMS), including headaches and depressed mood. It has also been used as a remedy for dysmenorrhea that will induce menstruation and regulate its flow, as well as relieve menstrual cramps. When used at the end of pregnancy, Black Cohosh is said to be a uterine stimulant that will promote labor and facilitate delivery. Long regarded as a tried-and-true remedy for "women's complaints," Black Cohosh is still considered a wonderful support for menopause-related problems. The herb is said to offset the decline of estrogen with phytoestrogens that mimic the hormone's effects and lessen hot flashes, blurred vision, vaginal dryness, headaches, dizziness and other hormone-related symptoms. It has been known to be a good substitute for estrogen replacement therapy (ERT), as it appears to maintain the therapeutic response to ERT when ERT is gradually withdrawn. An additional benefit is its apparent lack of bad side effects that frequently accompany synthetic hormones, i.e., malignancy in the breast, etc. There is some research that claims Black Cohosh may even prevent malignant growth by keeping the body's own estrogen from stimulating breast cells.
Chasteberry is an old and trusted "woman's herb" that is great for easing the discomforts of menstruation and premenstrual syndrome (PMS), including water retention, mood swings, anxiety, insomnia, pain and nervous tension. Menopausal women rely on it as well for alleviating their hormone-related discomforts. In the treatment of menopausal discomforts, the hormone-regulating properties of Chasteberry have been very helpful in easing mood swings and treating the physical problems associated with hormone deficiency. Chasteberry has been used for centuries in alternative medicine to control and regulate the female reproductive system. The herb appears to show the presence of compounds that are able to adjust the production of female hormones. It normalizes hormone levels and helps to regulate menstrual cycles, helping to regulate monthly periods and treating amenorrhea (absence of menstruation), dysmenorrhea (painful menstruation), and endometriosis.
Dong Quai (or "Female Ginseng," as it is sometimes called) is an age-old, natural way to support a woman's health and reproductive system. Dong Quai is famous as an overall tonic that assists the body in using and balancing hormones and has been used to relieve the discomforts of PMS (premenstrual syndrome), dysmenorrhea (painful menstruation), amenorrhea (absence of menstruation), menorrhagia (abnormal menstruation), and may help in cases of infertility. After the delivery of a child, women have considered Dong Quai a post-partum tonic that helps to regulate the menses and build the blood. It is also thought to re-establish the menstrual cycle after withdrawal from birth control pills. As a uterine tonic, it promotes an increase in contractions followed by a prolonged relaxation. It is also thought to relieve the discomforts of menopause (hot flashes and vaginal dryness).
Recommended Dosage:
Take one (1) capsule, one (1) to two (2) times each day with water at mealtimes. Do not exceed recommended dosage.
Contraindications:
Products containing Black Cohosh should not be used as daily dietary supplements for more than six months according to the German E Monographs. Consult with a physician if using this product for a prolonged period of time. Excessive consumption of this product can irritate the nervous system and can cause nausea. This product is not recommended if you are pregnant or lactating. Avoid Black Cohosh if you have known heart conditions as large doses can cause low blood pressure. Very large amounts of this herb (over several grams daily) may cause abdominal pain, headaches and/or dizziness. It should not be used concurrently with hormone therapy (e.g., estrogen, progesterone). This blend may cause some fair-skinned people to become more sensitive to sunlight.
